Using the newest technologies to respond smoothly to property claims

Maintaining property claims service in unprecedented times

When your commercial property is damaged, returning to pre-loss conditions quickly is important. Liberty Mutual Insurance has invested in technology, infrastructure, and processes that have enabled us to transition smoothly to a remote-work process. So, while we have an unprecedented situation of claims teams working remotely, our teams are equipped with the resources they need to maintain the high levels of service and responsiveness required to assess and manage your property claims.

New virtual technology speeds up property claims process

With limited travel and personal contact, the way Liberty Mutual inspects property damage has changed. We have accelerated the roll out of technology that enables claims to be inspected and estimated virtually. Now, customers can provide images to our claims specialists that enable us to measure the impacted area, speeding claims estimating and adjustment.

A new approach to responsiveness in the current environment

This new technology joins other investments Liberty Mutual has made to improve responsiveness while also limiting in-person contact by claims specialists. With regularly updated aerial photography we have a sense for the size and location of sites. In the event of weather catastrophes, aircraft flyover photography is used for quicker evaluation of damage in an affected area. Also, no-touch teams across the United States can photograph the exteriors of sites after a claim is reported without direct contact with a customer.

Moving forward and making life easier for customers

Our customers can rest assured that our experts will leverage the right resources based upon the complexity and severity of the claim. In many cases, especially for large losses, we will still recommend a building consultant evaluate damage in person. Our claims specialists will work with customers to make sure they are comfortable with timing, protections, social distance, state rules, and any other considerations around in-person inspections.

With a more active hurricane season anticipated and physical distancing due to COVID-19, Liberty Mutual continues to apply innovative solutions to meet customer needs. We’re always looking for creative ways to help protect customers – and make life easier when things don’t go according to plan.

Customers can continue to report claims through our online portals, toll-free numbers, or email, as applicable. Learn more.
